Amsterdam Cookies: the stroopwafel as a small gift with a big effect

19 August 2026 · 3 min read

How a love of the stroopwafel grew into a brand built around one thing: making people smile.

Some products need no introduction. You smell a fresh stroopwafel and you're instantly eight years old again, at the market, waiting for the waffle to be pressed shut.

That exact fascination sits behind Amsterdam Cookies. Founder Kevin Mooibroek worked in Costa Rica for a while and only there realised how special that Dutch biscuit really is: everywhere in the world, people light up at a stroopwafel.

Back in the Netherlands, that became a brand: crisp waffles with soft syrup, made according to the age-old tradition but wrapped in a contemporary, distinctly Amsterdam jacket.

That's exactly why the stroopwafel works so well in a corporate gift box. It's small, everyone knows it, no one skips it - and with its own sleeve or card it instantly feels personal.

Small biscuit, big gesture. In our boxes, it's often the first thing to disappear.
