City Gin: a city translated into a bottle
2 August 2026 · 3 min read
Local entrepreneurs and residents help decide what goes into the gin - including colour, icon and story.
City Gin, founded in 2020, has an unusual recipe for its recipes: the city helps decide. Together with local entrepreneurs and residents, each city determines which botanicals go in, what colour the bottle gets and which icon appears on it.
For the Amsterdam edition, that produces a gin with real city flair: extra smooth, naturally flavoured and with a botanical profile that stays refined rather than shouting for attention.
The brand also pays attention to the rest: sustainable materials and packaging fit the idea that a local product shouldn't just sound local.
For a drinks box or more luxurious corporate gift, this is one of the few spirits you can give without explanation - the label already tells the story.
Gin for and by the city. Meant that way, made that way.
